This design looks particularly good with long nails, but feel free to experiment and add your own twist. This design was inspired by nail-art-101.com image is called zig zag nail art, where a lady painted her nails with a clear glitter nail polish and painted on black zig zags. Furry Feather Manicure

This is my first attempt at a feather manicure. I used a plain pink feather in hindsight it shouldn't be in strips it should be a full feather and statically placed, preferably with a print because the nail design looks more complex and interessting. When I applied the top coat it looked shabby, because the feather weren't flat. In conclusion I love the idea of a feather manicure I'm just not that good at it. The manicure last quite a long time so it defiantly worth trying.

This week I am so excited because my Moyou nail plate (London 04) came as well as my konad stamp and scrapper yhh!! To be honest when I first tried to stamp a design on to my nails I failed miserable, I completely missed my nail that was disappointing but I wasn't disheartened so I kept trying.

Now I can make more cool funky designs for you to see once I've received my fake nails in the mail, which I don't actually wear personally but it's easier to create designs on a regular bases. I currently own two colours of nails polish blue and red, So shopping is in order I think.

Marble Me Purple

This goergeous marble nail design is abstract and endearing. The colours used in the design complement each other. This design  is really easy to produce although it looks complex.  Practice is key it took me a few attempts in order to get the best results, your nails will be a topic of conversation this design is definitely one to try.

Equipment

  • Plastic bag
  • Tooth pick
  • Misguided blue nail varnish
  • Rio Professional (pink, pale blue and white)

Tribal Effect

This design consists of an array of bold symbols. This design allows you to be artistic and free.

Equipment
  • Silver nail varnish from nail inc.

Magazine Transfers

These nails are awesome despite the low quality my apologies. When I found out that you can use a magazine to transfer images onto your nails I was so excited, then I flicked through a magazine and found superman it was epic. (so I was a little bit to happy) I transferred the image using water, The longer you press the image against your nail the better the image transfers. I was really happy that superman came out so perfectly this is defiantly a technique to try I love it.

Equipment Needed:

  • Essie White nail polish
  • Sally Hanson - Base coat & Top coat
  • Magazine
  • Water

60's Retro

These Retro nails are super bright and ultra funky. Brighten up a dull rainy day with these sensational nails. This design can be done with a plastic sandwich bag in order to merge the colours together. This is easily one of my favourite techniques because it's easy and quick to produce. On the left hand side the black border is optional I just wanted to combine different techniques.

Equipment needed:

  • Essie - white for the background
  • Rio Professtional - Black
  • Rio Professional - neon pink yellow and orange

Rio professional can be purchased on Amozen.co.uk, the nail varnish features a thin long brush and a pen if you remove the lid. This a cheap polish so it wont last as long even with base coat and top coat, but it is good for tutorials.

Zebra in the Blue

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Stamping Equipment

Left to Right:

  • On the far left Moyou image plate 04
  •  Blue polish Misguided
  • White Konad 11ml
  • Red N07
  • Konad stamp
  • Konad scrapper
If you want your nail art designs to last longer I suggest that you purchase Base coat and top coat, This will also give your nails a intense shine. In regards to Konad you can use normal nail polish, however if you use a inexpensive polish the image may not transfer. By using a inexpensive polish you will also see a differences in the hue the polish colour wouldn't be so bold. It is important to not that when using Konad a inexpressive polish will strip therefore may result in a ruined design.

Moyou Image plate N04

This is  great image plate because it features lots of cool and complex designs. When I first got the plate I was quite concerned about the size of the images but it was fine in the end.

A list of some of the designs that are featured on image plate 04:

  • Cup cake
  • Bird on Barbed wire
  • Cup cake
  • Fancy Writing
  • Floral designs
  • Dandelions
  • Hounds Tooth
  • Owl with a stripe background
  • Splatter paint
  • Victorian Silhouette
Each plate comes with 18 complex designs, With the ad of stamping kits and image plates it allows you to be more creative and experiment the possibilities are endless. However I well still always enjoy painting my nails by hand but when I am going to College I haven't got the time.

    Paint splatter

This design is free flowing, simple yet effective. I'm glad to announce that I am going back to hand painted designs, that can be achieved with everyday household item such as a tooth pick. • Red polish N05
    • Silver polish Nail inc.
    • Tooth pick

I love this nail design because it showing emotion you will hate or love it but that's what I want for you to have an opinion. This is a photo of a traditional crackle effect. Choose colours that contrast each other, I like the monochrome effect because the design stands out more on a white background. Once you have created this look get creative and try to combine different techniques such as Ombre, try neon pink tips and experiment with metallic nail polish.

    Equipment Needed:

    • Crackle effect (Camden) by Nails Inc.
